16 apr 2004 STUX 0.7 released.
Changes:

User 'gp' removed: now applications run with root privileges.
MiniDesktop 0.1 released: Minidesktop is an application that uses graphical interface to perform all operations required to manage Live CD sessions (devices setting, configuration save, hard disk installation, ...).
All STUX codes have been rewritten and included in MiniDesktop.
Introduced Cheat Codes: Cheat Codes are used to pass values to STUX, to help with getting it working on difficult hardware, start with a different Desktop Manager, set root password, debug, ... (press F1 at boot prompt for a list of available Cheat Codes)
Fixed problem with sound cards that don't use emu10k1 module.

4 feb 2004 version 0.6.4 released:
Changes:

Fixed bug in script hd-install (/home/gp/.sbin/hd-install) present in Stux 0.6.3 that prevented hard disk installation.

4 feb 2004 Syntax error in script 'hd-install' (/home/gp/.sbin/hd-install) in Stux 0.6.3:
hd-install is the script used to install Stux on hard disk.
Download corrected script: http://gpstudio.com/stux/hd-install and run it as root: example:

sudo ./hd-install

If you have saved configuration, copy new hd-install to /home/gp/.sbin/hd-install (overwriting the old one) to fix the problem definitively.

To fix the problem manually, remove the double-quote char (") at the end of line 311.

Version 0.6.1 corrects a very little bug in version 0.6:
In version 0.6 the link /etc/rc.d/rc.0 was missing: /etc/rc.d/rc.0 (shut down script) is a link to /etc/rc.d/rc.6 (restart script): the effect was that when you turn-off stux the error '/etc/rc.d/rc.0 no such file or directory' was thrown.
In version 0.6.1 the 'S Menu' on KDE kicker has been removed: you can always access it at

Configuration file and format has changed from stuxconf.zip to stuxconf.iso.
/etc/fstab is recreated at every startup containing all mountable partitions.
- a list of mounted remote filesystems is kept in file /home/gp/stuxconf/smbfs and will be mounted at every startup.
- a list of mounted loop filesystems is kept in file /home/gp/stuxconf/loopfs and will be mounted at every startup.
- a list of mounted swap files is kept in file /home/gp/stuxconf/swapfiles and will be mounted at every startup.
A set of commands has been added to create that files easily.
Commands 'loadconf' and 'saveconf' fully reviewed. Now you can save configurations and home directory directly on a real hard disk and not only in loop filesytem (iso file).
knetmonapplet (network activity monitor applet) added in KDE Kicker.
ICQ client Licq added.
Documentation (for X and KDE) is not installed but now is downloadable and installable on hard disk.
LISO (Linux ISO builder) and command 'hd-install' fully reviewd: now, if you install stux on hard disk, you obtain exactly a clean Slackware installation.
PhpMyAdmin added and pre-configured to work with Apache.
Gnome desktop, icons and menus reviewed.

16 dec 2003: version 0.5.3 released

Boot changed: now 'boot floopy emulation' is used, for better compatibility.
If you cannot boot STUX with prior versions, you should try again.

9 dec 2003: version 0.5.2 released
Changes:

Kernel sources are included in /usr/src and various applications docs and licenses are included in /usr/doc.
/etc/fstab is persistent (a link to /home/gp/stuxconf/fstab). In previous versions, /etc/fstab was automatically rebuilded at every startup. Now you can permanentely add remote shared drives and find them always in KDE desktop. Now /etc/fstab is automatically rebuilded only if /home/gp/stuxconf/fstab does not exists.
/etc/ssh/ is persistent (a link to /home/gp/stuxconf/ssh/). This directory contains the keys and host-fingerprints used by Secure Shell (ssh) clients. In previous versions, this directory was not persistent, so every time system was started a new host-fingerprint was generated: this caused a security-warning in ssh clients.
In previous versions command 'dhcpcd' (used to contact a DHCP server) overwrites /etc/resolv.conf (a link to /home/gp/stuxconf/resolv.conf) with a real file (not a link). This problem has been fixed creating a new command 'dhcpcd' that recreates /etc/resolv.conf as a link and not as a real file.
There was a bug in LISO (when executed from pre-installation on CD) that caused a 'permission denied' error. This has been fixed.
Now you can open PDF files using Mozilla or Konqueror.
News for Fastweb (Italian Network) users with optical fiber connection: now you can automatically download the updated Video Lan channels list and install channels on your KDE desktop. See also the related F.A.Q..

Added Internationalization for KDE and KOffice. Choose Language and Keyboard Layout.
To make disk space free for KDE Internationalization, some packages has been removed (installed software list).
Created command 'hd-install' to install STUX on Hard Disk and create boot floppy.
LISO (Linux ISO builder), the program used to build STUX iso file, is now installed in STUX (in /home/gp/.liso./)
All commands related to STUX are now 'persistent' and editable. They are in /home/gp/.sbin.
