Subject: [STUX NEWS n.3] Stux Linux 0.6.4 released and STUX PACKAGES

Milan, 5 feb 2004

STUX NEWS:
---------

STUX version 0.6.4 released to fix an error in script hd-install,
introduced in version 0.6.3.

And now, HAVE FUN !

The real news are STUX PACKAGES, that are applications packaged to work
with no effort in STUX Live CD environment.

At the moment, these are the STUX PACKAGES available:

Drivers: NVidia video drivers
Games: Doom Demo
               Quake I Demo
               Quake II Demo
               Quake III Demo
               Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo
x86 Emulators: Bochs 2.1
Messengers: Amsn

If you are running STUX Live CD now, you can download and execute
packages in a few minutes, with no effort, clicking:

K Menu -> STUX -> Installed application -> download and install applications

Note that you need a linux filesystem (ext2) with enough disk space to
download, install and execute packaged applications.

Note also that Quake III and Unreal Tournament 2003 require an
accelerated 3D video card (I am currently using GeForce MX 4000 with
NVidia chipset).

For all games is required a processor at 800 Mhz or superior, no i486,
AMD processors are not always supported, and the video card must support
AGP transfers.

drivers: if you can help, please let me know.

- If you have a 3dfx video card: I need to test Unreal Tournament Demo
(the old version) package: if you can help, please let me know.
